Today, Iron Lynx has announced it will contest a Fanatec GT2 European Series event for the first time in the team’s history. The 2023 season-opener will take place at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza (21-23 April).

The high-speed 5.793km circuit is set to host the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe across the same weekend, a series in which Iron Lynx also has three cars on the entry list. Meanwhile in Spain, the team’s European Le Mans Series and Michelin Le Mans Cup drivers will be on track at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Driving under the Iron Lynx banner in the opening round of this ultra-competitive series is father-son duo Luciano and Donovan Privitelio at the wheel of the #8 Super Trofeo Lamborghini.

Iron Lynx Team Principal and CEO, Andrea Piccini, said: “We are thrilled to be competing in yet another amazing championship like the Fanatec GT2 European Series. Of course, it makes it even more special that we are making our series debut at Monza – what a fantastic place for a guest entry!”

Luciano Privitelio added: “The GT2 European Series is a championship that we have been looking at with interest since last year. I love Monza – it’s one of the most incredible tracks in the world. My son and I can’t wait to jump in the car and race, we thought what better opportunity to start our 2023 racing season at Monza and in the Fanatec GT2 European Series? We are thrilled to be working together with Iron Lynx, a team that needs no introduction and will support and coach us throughout 2023.”

Donovan Privitelio commented: “I can’t wait to get in the car and tackle the high-speed curves and straights of Monza once again – every driver loves to race there. It’s so exciting to do it with Iron Lynx supporting us. Racing in such a competitive championship will be a tough challenge for us both, but one we are prepared for and looking forward to.”
