Kimi Antonelli posted fourth place in the Feature Race as the FIA Formula 2 Championship signed off Imola for round 4 of 2024. The Italian started from fourth place and managed his car well from start to finish to take his fifth points finish of the year in front of his home crowd. Having started on Option tyres, he soon moved to Primes which he took good care of.
Ollie Bearman had a disappointing day after delivering a splendid front-row performance in Qualifying. The British racer had a superb start, taking the lead immediately and diving in the first corner up front. Unfortunately, when he stopped to get Prime tyres on, he stalled out of his pit-lane spot, dropping several positions back. He eventually finished in a distant P19.

From a classic venue to the next, PREMA Racing will now be lining up for the Monaco Grand Prix in Monte Carlo next weekend.

#3 OLLIE BEARMAN
“Really sad result to what could have been a great race. Great start, great first stint, and then I lost the engine in the pit-stop, which put me back to last, and after that, nothing really to do. The car felt fast but you cannot really overtake on this track.”

#4 KIMI ANTONELLI
“The start was not great, but then the pace was there and I was coming back, the end of the stint looked quite promising. We pitted later than what the others did, because Ollie had the priority being in front. Then on Medium tyres, I struggled a bit with the balance. It was an improvement compared to yesterday, but we were still missing a bit and fourth place was the best we could have taken today. We need to debrief well and prepare for Monaco, where qualifying is going to be really important. We will see what we can do to improve.”
