Vladimiros Tziortzis: “The Drivers Recruitment Program scholarship brought me to EuroNASCAR”

Vladimiros Tziortzis became one of EuroNASCAR’s top drivers after participating in the Drivers Recruitment Program – The Cypriot won a scholarship and received support in his home country of Cyprus

The 2025 Drivers Recruitment Program is scheduled for October 23 and November 15 at Fontenay Le Comte, France. It’s the best opportunity to become a NASCAR Whelen Euro Series driver and receive a scholarship for the rookie season in the championship. The program is suitable for all types of drivers: from beginners to professionals and gentleman drivers from all over the world. Vladimiros Tziortzis is one of the best examples of how the EuroNASCAR Drivers Recruitment Program can kickstart a career in Europe’s official NASCAR series.

For the Cypriot, it all started with the onset of the coronavirus pandemic and the lack of funding in championships that require a much higher budget than EuroNASCAR. “Going back to 2020, when the pandemic started, funding the season was a big issue for many racers and athletes,” said the 27-year-old from Nicosia. “That was also my problem, because companies were afraid to invest money at that time.”

But Tziortzis never gave up on his dream of becoming a professional racer: “I started searching online for programs with scholarships and immediately found the EuroNASCAR Drivers Recruitment Program test days. I applied online and was accepted by the organization. Then I got on a plane to France.” Tziortzis had no experience driving a V8 machine with an H-pattern transmission and no electronic assistance. He had only one chance to convince the organization of his skills both on and off the track.

“I did not have a single day’s preparation to show the best of myself in a brand new car in heavy rain conditions,” recalled Tziotzis of his test day in France. “I used to drive Formula 3 and Formula 4 cars, which have paddle shifters, so everything was new to me in a EuroNASCAR car. It was very challenging to put everything together in weather conditions that I do not like very much. I just love the sun.”

But the Cypriot showed great potential: “I did well and earned a scholarship for the EuroNASCAR championship. Now I’m representing Cyprus in Europe’s official NASCAR series with race wins, podiums and strong results. I’m happy to be a part of EuroNASCAR because the series provides opportunities for drivers who have the goal of racing NASCAR in the U.S. at the highest level.”

But that’s not the only reason Tziortzis is impressed with EuroNASCAR: “At the same time, the European championship is well organized and offers a lot of opportunities to get sponsors on board and present them. That is really important these days. The media work is great and we reach the best fans every race weekend. The grandstands are full and that shows the quality of the championship.”

Tziortzis joined EuroNASCAR at an uncertain time and took advantage of one of the best cost-benefit models in modern racing around the world. Thanks to the media exposure and his hard work between races, he has also signed a number of new sponsors to support the Cypriot’s adventure in one of the best touring car championships in the world. The Drivers Recruitment Program was Tziotzis’ foundation to build a sustainable and strong program to compete against the best European NASCAR drivers.
