NASCAR Euro Series- Team Bleekemolen confirms three established drivers and one newcomer

Team Bleekemolen is back in the NASCAR Euro Series with two cars for the 2025 season. The #69 car will again be shared by Sebastiaan Bleekemolen in PRO and Melvin de Groot in OPEN. The two Dutchmen are targeting the overall championship titles, with de Groot also aiming for the Legend Trophy. Michael Bleekemolen will move up to PRO to compete for the Challenger Trophy. He will share the car with newcomer Bruno Mulders, who will compete for the brand new Masters Trophy in OPEN.

Consistency is key and that’s why Sebastiaan Bleekemolen and de Groot are teaming up again for the 2025 season. Especially the PRO driver wants to put 2024 behind himself and turn the momentum around: “2024 was my worst season so far, with two terrible crashes and no podiums,” said Bleekemolen. “It was a year to forget. The good thing was that we had enough speed, so I’m confident for the new season. Also, the sequential gearbox update could make racing with the car even more competitive.”

“Melvin missed out on the Legend Trophy title last year after winning it in 2022 and 2023,” Bleekemolen said of his teammate. “It felt unexpected not to win it. There is a lot of confidence to at least win this championship again in 2025, but the goal is the overall OPEN championship. We have a good car and crew and have shown in the past that there is enough speed. Both are confident they can turn things around and get back into title contention next season.”

It’s all new for the #72 car: Michael Bleekemolen moves up to PRO at the age of 75. The Dutchman is not only the oldest driver on the grid, but also one of the fiercest. Age is just a number and that is why the former Formula 1 driver is eager to fight for the Challenger Trophy win. “He is 75 years old and still competing at a high level. He’s racing this season in PRO! Not racing is not an option. He started racing in the early 70s and has never missed a season. Of course F1 was a really special time, but the fun and competition in NASCAR is so high that it feels like a second youth,” said Sebastiaan Bleekemolen about his father.

Michael Bleekemolen will share the car with rookie Mulders, a new face on the NASCAR Euro Series grid. The Dutchman will compete for glory in the Masters Trophy of the OPEN championship: “I am thrilled to start the next chapter of my motorsport career in the NASCAR Euro Series with Team Bleekemolen. I can hardly wait for the start of the season in Valencia,” he said. Sebastiaan Bleekemolen added: “Hopefully Bruno will be Melvin’s biggest opponent in the fight for the OPEN title.”

Entrambi sono fiduciosi di poter cambiare le cose e tornare in lizza per il titolo la prossima stagione”.

È tutto nuovo per la vettura #72: Michael Bleekemolen passa alla PRO all’età di 75 anni. L’olandese non è solo il pilota più anziano in griglia, ma anche uno dei più agguerriti. L’età è solo un numero ed è per questo che l’ex pilota di Formula 1 è ansioso di lottare per la vittoria del Challenger Trophy. “Ha 75 anni e gareggia ancora ad alto livello. Questa stagione corre in PRO! Non correre non è un’opzione. Ha iniziato a correre nei primi anni ’70 e non ha mai perso una stagione. Naturalmente la F1 è stata un periodo davvero speciale, ma il divertimento e la competizione nella NASCAR sono così alti che sembra una seconda giovinezza”, ha detto Sebastiaan Bleekemolen a proposito di suo padre.

Michael Bleekemolen condividerà la macchina con il novellino Mulders, un volto nuovo sulla griglia della NASCAR Euro Series. L’olandese gareggerà per la gloria nel Masters Trophy del campionato OPEN: “Sono emozionato di iniziare il prossimo capitolo della mia carriera nel motorsport nella NASCAR Euro Series con il Team Bleekemolen.
